How to Install a 24V LED Strip:
To ensure maximum performance in terms of brightness and durability, it is mandatory to install it on a dedicated aluminum profile designed for proper heat dissipation.
Aluminum profiles not only dissipate heat but also protect LED strips from dust, insects, and partial moisture.
Choosing the Right Power Supply for the LED Strip:
LED strips must be powered by a constant voltage power supply, usually denoted as DC. For 24V LED strips, you need a 24V DC power supply.
To calculate the required wattage for your LED strip's power supply, use this simple mathematical formula:
"Number of meters of LED strip x Watts per meter consumed by the LED strip model = Minimum power requirement of the power supply."
Note: Always buy a power supply slightly more powerful than the calculated result; otherwise, your power supply will operate at full load continuously and could risk overheating.
Example: If you have a 3-meter LED strip with 20W per meter and want to buy a power supply, the calculation would be: 20W x 3m = 60W total power consumption for 3 meters of LED strip. So, you will need a power supply of at least 100W.
Remember that 24V LED strips, when powered from one end, can reach a maximum length of 5 meters. To achieve longer lengths, it's mandatory to power the strip from both ends or in sections of 5 meters each. Always use a power supply with a higher wattage than the LED strip's power.
How to Dim an LED Strip:
To adjust the brightness of an LED strip, you need a suitable controller.
You can dim LED strips using a WiFi controller, a button controller, voice control via Alexa, remote control via smartphone, and even set timers.
